Biography
Education and clinical career
I graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Crete, completing my studies in 2013. After graduation, I worked for a short period at an oncology centre in Cyprus before beginning my specialist training in Psychiatry at Mytilene General Hospital “Vostaneio”.
I continued my clinical training at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis and subsequently with the Mental Health Services of Cyprus, where I completed my specialist training in Psychiatry. Alongside this, I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT) at I.P.S.E.P.A.
After successfully completing my specialist examinations, I worked as a school doctor in schools in Nicosia. This experience gave me direct insight into mental-health concerns affecting children and adolescents, as well as the importance of collaboration between the child, the family, and the school environment.
Today, I work as a Psychiatrist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT), providing services at my private practice in Kato Deftera and at Balance Rehabilitation Park.
Alongside my clinical work, I continue my academic education through the master's programme in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at European University Cyprus.
In my clinical approach, I seek to see the person beyond a diagnosis or symptom. My work is grounded in the biopsychosocial model, and I approach each case individually, taking into account the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence mental health.
Where indicated, pharmacotherapy may be combined with psychotherapy as part of a comprehensive therapeutic approach that considers the person within their personal, family, and social context.
