Therapeutic approach
Trust, safety and individualised care
A fundamental principle of my therapeutic approach is the creation of a relationship built on trust, acceptance, and safety, in which each person can feel heard, understood, and recognised as a unique and complex individual.
I believe that mental health is not only about addressing symptoms, but also about understanding the person within their personal, family, social, and developmental context.
My therapeutic work draws on evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches, with particular emphasis on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), adapted to each person's needs, personality, and goals. Where therapeutically appropriate, elements and principles from different therapeutic approaches may be integrated, always guided by the individual's particular needs.
I place particular importance on the collaborative relationship between therapist and patient. The aim of therapy is not only to alleviate anxiety, sadness, or other psychological symptoms, but also to strengthen self-awareness, psychological resilience, and functioning, and to support the person's capacity to understand and make meaning of their experiences and move forward in life with greater freedom and inner balance.
As a Psychiatrist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT), I approach mental health from a holistic and individualised perspective, recognising the importance of the biological, psychological, social, and existential dimensions of human experience.
For me, therapy is first and foremost a space for meaningful encounter, where scientific knowledge is combined with empathy, respect, and authentic human presence.
